The "Asian Cross-Cultural Trilogy of Horror Films" is a must-watch for any horror movie enthusiast! Directed by three of Asia's wildest directors, this anthology features three unique and terrifying stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat. In "Dumplings," Bai Ling stars as a specialist in preparing dumplings that promise to restore youth and health for her customers, but with a twist - she also runs a particular clinic on her premises.
This segment is both icky and cogent, making it a standout in the collection. "Cut" from Park Chan-wook is a warped filmmaking tale about a self-centered director who gets trapped at his home (or is it the set of his new movie?) by a deranged former extra.
This segment is full of sadistic machinations that make Hannibal Lecter look reasonable, and while it may not be as exciting as Oldboy or Sympathy for Mr.
Vengeance, it's still a thrilling watch. Lastly, "Box" from Miike Takashi is reminiscent of an old Outer Limits episode, complete with a "gotcha" ending that doesn't seem worth the trouble.
While twins are always a good topic for horror, this segment falls short of its potential. Overall, this anthology is a disappointment compared to what could have been, but fans of Asian horror will still find plenty to enjoy in these three unique and terrifying tales.
So don't miss out on the chance to experience them for yourself!
