Dance With Me

Not only does Debelah Morgan have the rock-hard abs, R&B chops, and high vocal register that made Mariah Carey a household name, but she also has extensive classical training that gives some legitimacy to the Bach and Bizet samples sprinkled among her album's hip-pop beats.

On personality, however, Carey needn't worry: Morgan's Dance with Me has no spirit of its own and no story to tell.

The usual mix of dancefloor tracks and ballads here includes some good ones, such as "Baby I Need Your Love" and "Let's Get It On," and some not-so-good ones, such as "Come and Dance" and "Can't Stop Loving You." But all are predictable retreads of songs you've heard before.

Morgan's voice is strong, but her material holds her back, keeping her out of contention in this age of the superdiva.
