With its lean, no-nonsense approach, director James Felix McKenney executes the story in just 72 minutes, focusing on the struggle between Rooker and the monster.

Despite some awkwardness with the full-body suit used for the monster, Rooker's performance is top-notch, backed by able assistance from vet Blanche Baker.
