Homeless and runaway teens are becoming a huge part of the underground population in the U.S.

According to research, “The National Runaway Switchboard estimates that on any given night there are approximately 1.3 million homeless youths living on the streets, in abandoned buildings, with friends or with strangers.” (Homeless and Runaway Youth, 2013, NCSL) Some of these children runaway from violent and unstable home environments thinking that things will be better when they are on their own.
