This season finds Cathy's cancer in remission, and Cathy considering drastic life changes, such as assuming a secret identity and adopting a baby.

Cathy's husband, Paul (Oliver Platt), survives his heart attack and becomes a motivational speaker with the help of a sketchy mentor (Susan Sarandon).
