Felt it was pricey but I liked the way it looked and willing to spend the money to beat the squirrels. First time out, and the squirrel figured out how to raise the top and feed by squeezing in. The lock mechanism did not secure properly and I am not wanting to try another one out. Returned already.

NO GOOD IN SO MANY WAYS. I SHOULD HAVE SENT IT BACK. BIRDS CANNOT FIT INSIDE THE CAGE. THERE ARE NO PERCHES ON THE OITSIDE. IT MAY BE GOOD FOR A TIT MOUSE BUT NOT CARDINALS OR JAYS.

We got this item for Christmas, thought it would be our answer to the squirrels. NO WAY! The squirrels were able to get the top off, they were able to knock it to the ground, they chewed the plastic tube that holds the food, they just completely demolished the feeder. I was concerned, after reading a review, that the openings in the feeder would be too small for the birds to get in. I put it up and so far the finches and other small birds don't have a problem. I haven't seen any squirrels trying to get into it, so I hope that problem is solved too.
