I wasn't thinking when I purchased this product for my 83 year old mother in law because of the hard wooden handle. I think the hard handle will cause her problem's gripping it. My husband liked the cane as well as I did and said he would keep it for himself if she couldn't use it

The cane sent to me was mottled colors blue and black, an old color scheme. The current color scheme of the Carex blue mottled canes are a blue and soft purple easily seen in any Rite Aid store. Unfortunately, non of my local Rite Aid's carry the Derby handle. Might try customer service and see...
