The case is easy to assemble and sturdy. The only minor issue is with the flaps at the bottom where the charger and headphone plugs are. The outer case does not always close over them easily.

We were told by a tech-friend to get an otterbox to protect our ipod, and so glad we did. Our child has dropped the ipod several times, in the house and on pavement, and there's not a scratch on it.
