Works well and does what it is supposed to. Used it to prove a case to police about noise violations of neighbor according to decibel levels indicated in the county noise ordinance. Without it I would have had to hire a professional.

This meter was purchased to measure sound levels in an office building where we were receiving noise complaints. We were able to quantify the noise levels, apply sound dampening measures, and see the actual impact those measures had.

For as inexpensive as this product is you would think that it would be feature-limited. You'd be incorrect, however. This SPL meter easily keeps up with the bigger and more expensive toys we have. I use this for radio controlled airplanes to make sure our noise level is within our limits. I have compared it against others and it seems to be accurate. It is not heavy duty but strong enough for light use which is why I gave it 4 stars. I would recommend it for home or hobby use.
