Why oh why is shrimp powder added? For umami, You can use dried miso, nori, mushroom, olive, etc. I would love this soup and could use as a base for many noodle dishes but vegetarians can't eat...

I used to love this, but I just tried some today, and the fish smell was overwhelming. I thought I was imagining things and tried a bite, but the fish taste was so strong, I ended up getting sick.

I used to absolutely LOVE this soup when it came in the bowl. This packet version is not even comparable to the flavor it used to have. It is so fishy and dull now.
