I purchased both 2" and 1.5" Forstner bits and neither make a dent in any kind of wood - maple, oak, softwood, plywood. Less expensive WoodCraft are muuuuch better.

I bought this bit yesterday and I'm not satisfied at all it won't even drill a hole just scraped the wood surface I was going to make wood candle holders my spade bit did a better job!
