The tray on the bottom catches lots of seed that otherwise would be wasted. Larger birds can feed off of tray.

This will be the 9th one of these feeders I have purchased over the past 10 years. I hang 3 at a time year round. The birds like them so much they are refilled almost daily using only black oil sun...

I bought a half-dozen different style feeders. THIS is the one that the birds seem to prefer and fight over. I think they like that bottom platform which is easier for them to sit on comfortably....
