I prefer Mattte sceens. I agree that the gloss looks great in a ''perfect'' home theater enviroment. We had a 55 inch older TV and upgraded to this HUGE HDTV. I cannot believe how great the color is and how sharp the picture is! GReat TV! Glad we have it - especially with football season upon us!

I cant stand when people post stupid things. This TV is MATTE because it is LED LCD, only Plasma TV's come in a "glossy" finish. LED is the way to go, it has deeper blacks then regular LCD. This TV is HUGE!!!
