I have two of these combos that I use for catfish, and I have always used Zebco reels since childhood; My father raised me fishing on them also. In 30 plus years, I only recall two reels that ever failed to perform as stated or desired.

I have returned 2 of these rods. They get tangled in the reel easily, then the reel is never the same again. The drag adjustment is terrible or does not work at all.
