It is really had to find an extension cable with a 4 pole connection to handle the controls on an an Apple or SOL Republic headphones with a microphone. My wife and I just recently bought new phones. We also use the phones for our thrift store, we use the square adaptor for purchases,I had put a Otter Box phone protecter on mine and the adaptor wouldn't go completely in. This item is a great extension for adaptor.
