Not bad for infant portraits, and a really excellent macro lens if you can get close to the subject. With the high ISO capabilities of modern SLRs, a very large maximum aperture is not as important as it used to be.

This is my first purchase of a lense that didn't come with the camera. I absolutely love it. I have so much to learn with this lense. After a few days of practicing I have learned a lot about better focusing and enjoying the tiny details it can pick up.
