Great trilogy in a cool package. Each movie is in a separate blu-ray case that holds 3 discs so you have a total of 9 discs. If you redeem your UV code at Vudu you'll get the HD extended trilogy bundle with all the extras. That alone would cost $50 so the box set is a great deal.

In my opinion, the best movie trilogy ever made, next to Lord of the Rings. I have been a huge fan of this story since I first read it in high school. Even though the original tale was embellished for the film version, it still remains fairly true to Tolkien's intention. Highly recommend!

The instawatch is only the standard versions, and not really needed when it comes with the digital U.V. downloads. Also a lot of the cd clips were broken when I received it. Disks were OK though.

I have enjoyed The Lord of the Rings since I first read it 40 years ago . The movie series produced by Peter Jackson were very well done . They follow the books better than most movies . I enjoyed the Hobbit movie series very much .

This is the essential version of the Trilogy you want! The high quality of Blu Ray, the extended scenes, and all the behind the scenes stuff and commentaries that a film collector will enjoy. Don't buy any other version!
