Timmy Tiptoes and his wife, Goody Tiptoes, store their nuts in several holes. The other squirrels think that Timmy Tiptoes has stolen their nuts, and they catch him and stick him in one of the holes. Eventually he gets out and stores his nuts with a padlock in the future.

This tale always ruffles my feathers. The injustice of it all! Reading it now, as an adult, I think it captures the capriciousness of squirrels (as we view them) very well. The seeming randomness of little woodland creatures. A fun story.
