I bought this for our grizzly fireplace and it's very actuated. It helps if you want to know what the temp actually is. It also helps prevent dangerous creosote build-up, protects the condition of your firebox, and helps you reduce the amount of firewood you're using.

This seems to work well on the stove and glad I have it for it gives me some kind of idea what the heat it is putting out. I can't say it is spot on for I have nothing else to compare it to. But I and sure it is close to reading right. It is good product!
