    This is a good book. Too bad the author wasn't thoughtful enough in some parts of the book. It uses philosophy and reasoning to explain.

    A pretty good survey of math and science, including Euclid, Descartes, Newton, and Einstein, and ending with a good discussion of string theory, and a tidbit on membrane, or M-theory. He does annoyingly keep bringing his children, Alexei and Nikolai, into the discussion. (Where was his editor?) B...

    Overall, an excellent book that covers geometry all the way from Pythagoras (so not just Euclid) to modern day String Theory. It's probably not a good choice for a pop science book, but for someone interested in the history of mathematics/science, it's very well done. There's a lot in this book. ...

    Very entertaining and informative: plus being (mostly) comprehensible to a mathematical thicky like me! The least likeable aspect is the continuous (and boring) use of his sons names for examples.
