Although made of particle board, it is solid and very attractive. My 7 year old sits on top of the thing frequently. Very nice piece.

The headboard had the worst set of directions on a piece of furniture that I have ever seen. Also, it does not attach to a standard bed frame without additional hardware. The color was not what was shown either, but fortunately for us, the actual color still worked out ok.
