fixed problem for 2 months on a quick fix. but then when i tried to do full install, it would not recognoze the serial number. i did not share the number or disc. i bought from microsoft would honor nothing.

I tried this product after failing to get the standard 8.1 installed. This one also did not install with no reson as to why. Both programs when through the entire upgrade until the computer restarted. Then back to Windows 7.

I installed the new windows 8.1 and for some reason my applications often freeze up. I have ran Norton 360 to keep my computer clean. No viruses have been found by Norton, and I'm out of ideas. If this continues I might change back to windows 7.

Window 8 has added new features, that are nice, such as the use of the touch screen. I think the use of the tiles could be better implemented, I would rather the charms be a part of a task-bar rather than the difficult swipe business, or at least a touch procedure, with finger or mouse-pointer. I am a system builder who needed to replace my aging computer running Win 7 Pro. I selected Win 8.1 Pro because it would be cheaper to add Media Center to it. I needed Media Center to record TV shows to add to my library. This is the way to go it you plan to add Media Center later on!
