We set this up before a long vacation. We needed to be able to access work files during our trip. It does that perfectly. We also tied files between our laptop and desktop so we can access files from both computers. Very happy we bought this.

Good for a family's personal cloud (storage device). Easy to set up and works quickly. Just am learning what all it can do. Could be a little cheaper, being that it is not a dual slot and you have to attach an external drive for raid. Otherwise great NAS device.

Use the quick start instructions. If you don't want internet access you don't have fill out the WD account info. Just click cancel. The drive will only be accessible from you local (home) network.
