These things are actually pretty useful. They allow you to hang all types of lights any way you want them. they have a little hook at the bottom to hook the wire into to string them along the gutter. You can clip the bulb into the top part to hang the bulb sideways. It's a very useful clip.

These were very handy in getting the Christmas lights up on my roof. Fit perfect on the gutters, and fit perfect on the shingles! Kept the lights up even in the 75mph South Dakota winds!

It always amazes me that people have problems with such a simple product. they are plastic Christmas light clips. Don't expect them to last for multiple years if left out in the sun all year long. These clips fit my gutters and worked, multi position of lights very good. Could be a little wider but still held the cord in place. Looks like they will work well under shingles.
