I bought these to do rock paintings with my kids. While not all of them are flat, we had a blast painting them. The odd-shapedIones just inspired our imagination. I'd say about half or so were flat and the others a bit more rounded or other shapes.

I bought 3 bags not knowing before hand how many rocks would be in each bag. I needed 250 smooth round 1-2" rocks and I was able to get all that I needed out of 2 bags. There were a few broken ones and a few over 2" long, but most were excellent.
