I had a Windows 7 previously and I didn't want a Windows 8 after reading all the reviews. Being an 8.1 it's still a little different but it has the desktop, mouse etc like the 7. Very happy with it. It's very quiet unlike my 7 and really fast.

Since my HP with Windows XP was the oldest computer in my network and the hard drive was full, the best thing was to buy a new HP Processor when Microsoft stopped providing updates to Windows XP. It is my first Windows 8 and I am enjoying it's speed and features.
