Ex High School English teacher and current policeman, the author puts together all he learned from both professions to come up with a series of verbal arguments to use in incidents of high tension. Suggests practice so that his method is second nature for quick thinking.

The police anecdotes were hard for me to relate to. The author seemed to jump around in his focus from chapter to chapter, making it hard for me to find and connect with the overarching theme of the book. There are a lot of good concepts, though, and I appreciated his real-world approach.
