It's a sturdy plate for my purposes - sandwiches, snacks, salads, etc. Something heavy like lasagna might be a problem. I use to feel guilty using paper plates on a daily basis, but they can go in the city composting bin along with yard clippings and food scraps. They don't go to the landfill.
