Really more about math than Earth Day, which made the book not fit what I needed for the day.

This is a good example of realistic fiction because it addresses experiences that are easy to relate to and it could easily be true. It combines facts with a fictitious story, which is used to teach place value. Illustrations: watercolor and ink (?)

My son read this as part of his summer reading list required for 3rd grade. It was the last book on his list and saved it for last. He sat and read it in a few hours. He then walked me through the book on his own and was excited about showing me the book.
