Westlake is fun. I read his books quickly and sometimes they are just the 'thing' one needs in between more serious books.

I like Westlake when I start his books, including this one, then get impatient, like listening to a joke that goes on too long. It could be that my sense of humor just doesn't jibe with his, or not for 275 pages at any rate.
