Needs internet for immediate update, then slowly checks computer (Acer Aspire 7736Z laptop). It is thorough and complete. I believe SpyBot Search & Destroy(Free Version) is just as thorough, but I do like the Stick. In fact, the Stick found a trojan that SpyBot and McAfee missed. Can't beat that....
