The gift recipient loves it and I'm sure has no idea that's all I paid for it! Doesn't run long before needing charged but that seems to be the norm with the helicopters.

Surprisingly easy to fly. My 7 year old has just about mastered it. Decent battery life, and fairly stable. We've only tried indoors at this point. It seems durable too as we've crashing into furniture and floors several times.

The side to side travel is really awesome. Gives you a better opportunity for a pin point landing

This said 8 to 12 years and up. I was buying for a 9 year old. When the box came it said 12 and up. My adult son thought it was too difficult too. I ended up having to buy the child a different helicopter. Because he was so disappointed.
