Worked just fine on my family chalk board calendar. I like the tip size because it's easier to write with. Be sure to pump the pen first until it starts to come out. Took less than a minute before it started to flow.

This is the best chalk marker I have used! I have tried other chalk marker brands that have not worked for me. I used chalkboard paint to make a menu board for the side of my fridge, and I use this chalkboard marker to write out our menu for the week. This marker works great!
