My kids (6 year old daughter and 8 year old son) LOVED this! They liked the booklet it came with to use to identify the 15 different gems/rocks/crystals. We used the tool it came with plus a little spray bottle to mist it now and then. They had no problems getting the rocks out by themselves.

First, our kids loves mining all of the gemstones out of the digging brick. There are 15 gemstones included, and they were nice quality. The educational content was my favorite part, there is a guide that explains what all of the different gemstones are. Great kit!

I bought this for myself, because I love rock and gem dig kits. I've done a number of these in the past, and while they all took a while, they were all worth the money I spent, and the time and effort I put into them. So I had high hopes for this one, especially since it's from National Geographi...
