I bought this rod to do some shore fishing in Mexico and wanted a rod that would fit in my luggage. This rod was great. Easily detected the lightest hits and handled a 20lb ray like a boss.

I have had my gx2 in a medium action for right at one year. Amazing upgrade! Very sensitive when needed but strong backbone when it matters most. Generally fish for walleye and bass and the occasional pike. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is my second Ugly Stick rod. I noticed that I still use the Ugly Stick bass rod (with an old Johnson closed-face reel) that I bought about 50 years ago. With that kind of toughness, I felt the need for another one.

I had the original ugly stick 7'' ugly stick one peice rod, I had it for almost 8 years and I lost it during a move from state to state and I was very sad about it. Then I ordered the ugly stick x2 7'' one piece rod and have been using it over the last two weeks and it was just like the old days!...

I bought eight of the 6'6" MH casting rods for my catfishing addiction. Went out and caught 10 over 25lbs already and the rods held up perfectly. I love the new design on the eyes, I'll be picking up more in the future for friends.
