I'm giving up on this about 1/2 way through. I'm enjoying it, but it's a tough read. Enjoyed 1632 and 1633 much better. Maybe it was the change in main characters. Will give the "main line" 1634 book a chance when it comes out.

Huh? I wasn't reading this series for history lessons, sight-seeing tours of the mid-east or theological debates. What happened to the military science fiction books? Well, that's another series hitting the circular file.

Yes another one, Flint has successfully harnessed a whole bunch of fen and beginning writers to do his research for him so details are often good but there is absolutely no sense of period. Still it all rattles along pleasantly enough.
