Great simple setup. Needed a good rig for family fishing trip and this along with an Ugly Stik GX2 is really terrific. Comes with a somewhat heavier line, but that's a minor issue. If you're looking for a fun setup and aren't out for trophy fish or whatever, this is a great rig to get started.

I've had this reel for a few months and have fished with it in 35 degree weather. I clean it after every use, use line conditioner, and I have experienced no problems what so ever. This reel has been used a lot since October and it is still butter smooth. Those who say it isn't as good as vintage...
