exactlt the same as benedryl, except generic, I'd much rather take this at night to clear out my allergies than to take chemmicals ("allergy medicine" ) during the day... and if you read. the label on most of the OTC"sleep medicines", this is their "active ingredient" = you just pay a lot more

Had allergies a long time, I was having itching all over my body. Zyrtec, ceterizine, and montelulast weren't helping. Benadryl stopped it right away. I was so grateful! This medicine is wonder to have around the house in case of allergy emergencies.

This was suggested to me by a doctor after I developed a stiff neck as a result from a short fall. It does relieve the stiffness making me drowsy. So now I take it mostly as a sleep aid.
