12/3 is the smallest extension cord I'd use for power tools. Electric wire gets SMALLER as the Number goes higher. 10/3 would be a bigger size wire and carry more amps while number 14 is actually to light for power tools that require 10 amps or more and should not be used for hi amperage.

The perfect extension cord to go with the new electric lawnmower that I ordered. The cord is somewhat heavy but that's expected since it is a heavy duty cord. The color is bright so the cord is easy to see as it lays over the grass or cement. Seems to be made well and was a good price.
