No kindling required, will burn for 2 hours guaranteed, if you need the fire out sooner; a poker to break up the log will assist in extinguishing the fire.

very consistent regarding high quality burn each time, vs other brands/logs that either "partially burn" or "small/inconsistent burn on log-per-log basis" or "needs to relight because flame went out". These logs are very reliable. light, sit back, enjoy a nice flame each and every time.
