    Was so looking forward to a "safe" mandolin but just couldnt get this to work. Blades tricky to insert, sliding base hard to keep on track, food (carrots) would not impale on spikes and so food landed on the counter.

    It seems to be good, but not for the reason I bought it. I had hopped I cut "waffle fries". The crinkle-cut blade does not have enough depth to the "waves". Even at the thinnest setting, the potato is not a waffle (with the traditional holes). Also, at the thinnest setting, I get potato chips...

    Not a bad hard plastic slicer. I do a lot of dehydrating. This mandolin slicer gives me even cuts while keeping my finders safe. It has a bunch of removal blades even though I am using only one of the blades. It also has a dial for several widths. I have not done tomatoes so I don't know how...
