I read a lot of discouraging forms on these cups about how it doesn't teach kids to drink out of an open cup properly but I can say that this has help my one year old transfer to open cups a lot easier at home. He still uses this cup at daycare because they won't allow him with an open cup.

this item is bigger than I expected it seriously works like magic it's a great item it is a miracle as described in the description but if your child is small a young toddler with small hands I do not recommend this because they have to use both hands to hold it.
