Kwikset 300T 15 CP Tylo Bed/Bath Knob, Satin Nickel

I have this lock throughout the house, so it is not a new product to me. Have used the Kwikset pro\ducts for years. I was changing doors yesterday and adding the new lockset and I could not get the door knob "halves" to screw to gethet with the two long 8-32 screws. One would only go in part way....
