I has just assembled the bed for my daughter. When I stood on the mattress to hang a curtain rod, the bed slats broke with the mattress ending on the floor. Particle board is soft. No wood.

This head board came out surprisingly nice. and pairs wel with the matching end tables. My only complaint is that I had to drill my own holes where it attached to the bed post. they were pre drilled, but not all the way through.
