my 8 year old daughter was bored when she got this for christmas. the dance moves were hard to follow.and the headset gets stuck in your hair.my daughter had alot of knots in her hair because of the headset.but now her hair is straight.but the toy is BAD!

The dance mat is a good toy for interaction and a little bit of exercise. I bought it for my just-turned-6 yr. old and it seems to move a little fast for her to learn all the steps, but I think with practice she'll pick it up. We've just begun to use it, but so far our only complaint is the heads...

I bought this as a birthday gift for our five year old, who is a die-hard HSM fan. She rolled out the mat, we put in the DVD, she put on the headset and she left 8 minutes later to play outside. My daughter received this dance mat for her 5th b-day gift she was really disappointed when she tried the dance mat because it was really hard for her to follow. I think this will be better for an older child like 8 and up.
