I have never had this happen. The packing appears to be something that has been returned- see photo. The pad itself is discolored. I will open it and check it out but first impression is not good.

Comes rolled (wadded) up in plastic wrap. Never actually flattens/smoothes out. I laid it out flat for 5 days to allow full time to flatten out and poof up, but it never happened. Tried to lay on it to flatten it out and it feels way worse than before! Like there are multiple blankets wrinkled up...

Looks like its been melted. Dont think it will ever puff up and straighten out. Has a rip and the color looks like been sitting in sun and bleached out in huge spots.
