The chimes make no noise. The chimes are solid and heavy and swing together. There is no central clapper. Even when it is very windy the chimes do not strike. If you manually hit the chimes, due to the solidness and weight, there is very little noise. It looks good, it just does not work! No sound.

Use it like the wind chime that it is. Works perfectly so far, but we have had many solar items go bad in a year or less, so time will tell.
