I would suggest leaving it out in the sun for a few days as the chemical smell is very over powering. Don't leave it in a window rolled up car right away! besides that is will do what it needs to do and protect your carpet.

The mat arrived quickly and was easy to cut and install. It does have a persistant, but not unpleasant odor.

First thing, the mat is a good buy in gray. For some reason the gray color is $11 cheaper than the black. While the gray isn't the greatest as it is a little blotchy, it is in the trunk where no one can see it. The mat is a little thin but should protect the carpet. A good buy for the price.
