The first time I used the circular needles, one of the needles became detached from the cord.

I had to return them. The plastic tubing that's used to connect the needles is the same diameter as the needles. The yarn does not slide easily over the plastic and by not being thinner than the needles…well, Lion Brand should know better! These are miserable to try and work with.
