This is Jakson's best-known work. By setting a particularly brutal ancient rite in the present and in a small village, she" shocked the readers with a graphic dramatization of the pointless violence ". She also told the readers what collective unconsciousness meant. I really like this short story.

A classic story of course, maybe the most famous, or at least the most read by students. Listened to this cause it's one of the book my son has made an audio book of for his mother.
